Bong Joon-ho’s film Mickey 17 is on the precipice of being released, which makes it a prime time to watch his directorial debut film, Barking Dogs Never Bite. The film includes a career-starting performance from Bae Doona and built into motion many of Bong’s signature stylistic flourishes including uncompromisingly acerbic humour and genre mash-ups that avoid neat categorisation.
